While August is Children’s Eye Health and Safety month, sponsored by Prevent Blindness American as well as Cataract Awareness Month, sponsored by the American Academy of Opthamology, any month is a good time to schedule an eye exam with an eye-care professional.
My dad is an example of someone whose vision had diminished to the point of legal blindness. Through simple cataract surgery his eyesight is restored. He needs no eyeglasses for distance and only a mild prescription for fine reading.
